It is Ash Wednesday – the start of Lent. Yesterday we had pancakes – delicious! We are going to church tonight.

I went for a walk today. It was lovely and sunny with a sharp north east wind. A type of tree is in bloom at the moment – it has tiny white flowers. I even have one in my garden. Anyone know what it is?

Stripped more wallpaper and discovered what a mess the wall is in. It was the kitchen wall where the sink was and also had a wall into the hall adjoining it. They also knocked a hole in it to make a doorway to the new kitchen (old garage). It will definitely have to be repapered.

Christmas:

On Friday I met with Bonnie for a long lunch and to catch up. I spent 8 years volunteering with Bonnie, at Christina’s first school, in the library repairing books amongst other things. Bonnie is now a library technician after doing some courses part time. It was good to see her.

In the evening I went to visit Janet. Our kids went to the same elementary school together and we met at the bus stop where we went to see them off lots of years ago. Janet now lives with Jacque and works as a social worker. She has a georgeous grandson and is very happy. We spent a pleasant eve together.
